Yeah, we're cool, we're up by bed. They went quiet. Welcome to the You Are Not So Smart Podcast, episode 86. A few years ago a group of people unwittingly contributed something wonderful to science.

Without realizing it, they added to a better understanding of how to create and maintain the sort of intellectual communities where the best ideas emerge and the worst ideas are tossed in the way spin of history.

And they did this by spending several days arguing on the internet about that great moral and ethical quandary, the Tricks Rabbit.

Created in 1959, the Tricks Rabbit, whose name, by the way, is Tricks, as in TRI, CI C.S is the mascot for TRX cereal TR I X little balls of

flavored corn that look and sort of tastes like tiny colorful fruit. Now Trix is a goofy cartoon who can interact with the real

world but that interaction almost always leads to misery because his singular drive in this life is to acquire and consume

tricks cereal. The only problem is no humans ever allow him to have any because well he's a rabbit and rabbits aren't allowed to eat

tricks cereal only human children. I've tried everything I'll never get to taste drinks with live green pops.

His desire perpetually unsated.

He has the resort to subterfuge and deceit, guile, and deception.

In other words,

Tricks.

And with this disguise, I'll be sure to be on the wedding side.
