The tennis goat will be back on the court tonight after easily winning her first round match

Monday at the U.S. Open in New York City.

Among those showing up in the stands to cheer her on, Queen Latifa, Matt Damon, Hugh

Jackman, former President Bill Clinton, and fellow tennis star Naomi Osaka.

The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion announced a few weeks ago that she plans to step away

from tennis sometime after this tournament to focus on her family and her business interests.

Her second round match will be a tough one against the number two seeded player, a neck

contivite of Estonia.

No matter how it goes, Serena will also enjoy some sister time with Venus, as the dynamic

duo got a wild card bid to compete in the women's doubles bracket, which also begins today.

There was another notable match at the U.S. Open, a young player from Ukraine, Darius

Sneeger, ranked 124th in the world, netted a big upset beating number seven, Simone Hallepe

in three sets on Monday.

In a court interview after her win, Darius said, this victory is for Ukraine, for all Ukrainian

people.

The situation is bad, of course.

It's not so easy because the war is continuing, but I try to do my best because I want

to live in Ukraine.

She is one of five Ukrainians in this year's U.S. Open.
