You don't stink but you missed a serious caveat when boasting about the free tuition for community college in Tennessee.

That requirement being students must attend and pass their courses.

A friend's child went to a local Tennessee community college for a year. Unfortunately, the student must have assumed free passing grades came with the free tuition and did not consider getting out of bed attending classes doing homework and taking tests was necessary.

The student did get a crash course in personal finance though. The college sent the tuition bill to a collection agency a couple of months after the end of the semester.

The student was billed for the year of tuition fees and interest along with destroying the student's credit. Jim.

Jim gosh, that's a terrible outcome and yours is the first feedback I've received since Tennessee made community college free for most state residents.
