trying to log onto their Zoom classrooms

were met instead with technical difficulties

as the go-to platform for remote learning suffered a major meltdown.

Down detector, a platform that monitors outages, reported at least 15,000 problems in major cities, including New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco.

Reports of trouble first surfaced around 9 a.m. Eastern and lasted for four hours.

The company's problems didn't go unnoticed on Wall Street

where its stock dipped nearly 3% before recovering. More than 100,000 schools

use the video conferencing app and for many yesterday marked the first day of school.

Always lock the door. For visitors to a pair of popular parks in Tokyo, that message is becoming crystal clear.

The city has installed new bathrooms that at first glance are missing something we all

expect when nature calls.

Privacy.

That's because these restrooms were built with

see-through walls.

It's only once visitors are inside

and flip the lock that the walls turn opaque or cloudy.

It's all part of a social experiment designed to change the public's perception of public restrooms.

Architects say the design has two benefits.
