Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Monday, August 18th, 2025. And we begin with Aaron now in the record books as one of the fastest strengthening Atlantic hurricanes on record. In just 24 hours from Friday into Saturday, it went from a category one storm to a cat five, the highest on the scale,

with winds topping 160 miles an hour. By yesterday, it was back down to a three, and

unleashing torrents of rain as it passed north of the Caribbean. According to the hurricane

center, the storm will continue to ping pong in intensity and could double or even triple in size as it moves

north and west. Though not expected to make landfall in the U.S., it will likely wallop the

entire East Coast with dangerous surf conditions much of the week. The Atlantic hurricane season

peaks on September 10th, but lasts until November.

The Wild Ride had to end at some point. Yesterday, the Red Hot Brewers fell to Cincinnati

in extra innings, snapping Milwaukee's historic win streak at a franchise high of 14. Still,

there's plenty to celebrate. Not only do the brewers have the

best record in the majors, they also earn their entire fan base, Free Burgers. As legend has it,

restaurant chain owner George Webb manifested good luck way back in the 1940s by promising the

city free burgers if the hometown team won 12 games in a row.

His restaurants made good on that promise twice before in 1987 and 2018, each time handing

out more than 170,000 hamburgers to Brewer Faithful.

They hit the mark again last week.

This year's giveaway is set for Wednesday
