Okay, you may have heard the claim that this new translation of the Gospel of Matthew is based on

the original Hebrew text or the original Hebrew Matthew has been discovered or something like that.

That's bogus.

We do not have an ancient, original Gospel of Matthew in Hebrew.

We simply do not have that. It does not exist. However,

there are many ancient traditions in the early church that reference either a gospel that Matthew had written in Hebrew,

or the Gospel of the Hebrews in Hebrew, or a collection
