Good afternoon fellow investors and welcome to

Invest Talk. This is our August 6th 2020 edition of Invest Talk and you you know what that means?

It means we are 90 days out from the election.

And obviously we're getting ebbs and flows in COVID news.

Certainly there's the risk of a fall resurgence,

although we kind of had a mini one that's kind of, you know, not really accelerating,

thankfully. But what's most important and becoming top of mind for the markets, investors, and just the country as a whole is that election.

Now, on Tuesday night there was a documentary that came on HBO that I think is really great.

It's called the swamp and it's very bipartisan. It's not

partisan one way or the other. It follows two Republican congressmen, one Democrat

congressman, and basically it exposes one Democrat congressman and

and basically it exposes the system and how the system works and how you basically pay to play to get a committee assignment

You have to donate to the party. In order to donate to the party

you need to raise money. And how do you raise money? Well you go and grovel to lobbyists typically and that's how you donate to the party and the more

prestigious shall we say the the committee assignment, there's A, B, and C, the more you have to give back to the party.

So if you're on the energy committee or the Ways and Means Committee, which deals with taxes,

well, you're going to get the most donations. Why? Because there's a lot of lobbyists, a lot of companies that have a

stake in what you're doing. And that's pretty much how it works.

To me it's institutionalized corruption, but and it's bipartisan.
