Good afternoon everybody and welcome to Invest Talk it is Tuesday August 4th

2020 and I do appreciate you being with me okay August we begin trading August

July is done and that means most of the earnings

season is passed, which doesn't have earnings. They still come in, but the bulk of

all the earnings are done. So, and it was actually a very good earnings season, better than expected,

but trying to remind you, keep you reminded that the analysts always downgrade earnings weeks before the

earning season ends so that they can come in below the actual earnings and their earnings are all a surprise on the upside.

That's always been the trend for a recent history. They do it on purpose.

Okay and it's okay that they do it on purpose as long as you realize that.

So like 70% of their earnings to S&P 500 are better than expected.

That's in a normal year. So when it gets above that, then you know that

we've had a pretty good season because it's more than in the normal expectations of

better earnings.

So that's what I'm talking about.

The earnings were actually better than the expectations

and even the upgrade.

So, but don't think, don't confuse that with being that great because you know we're still way

below our pre-Covid earnings so that's still a problem. A lot of industries too are struggling. So don't forget that.

Okay, COVID is still here. I'm here in California, I don't know about where you are, but here in California the numbers are turning down again, so it looks like we peaked again for the second time, and that numbers are starting to go down on the right direction.
