Summary
Welcome to The Secret Sessions series. On today's episode I am joined by Daniel Makin, Ian Wheeler and Dirt Factory's first employee Matt Greenwood to check out their new pop-up indoor mountain bike park in Manchester, UK. The Dirt Factory guys were first on the podcast way back in June 2016 so it's awesome to see them finally realise the first part of the project as they gear up to fully open the doors to the public.
You can find out more about Dirt Factory on their website www.dirtfactory.org or, book a pre-opening session at Eventbrite.

| 0:00.9 | What is up, people? |
| 0:02.2 | Welcome back to episode number 73 of the Hooket podcast. |
| 0:06.1 | And today, our very first secret sessions episode. |
| 0:09.6 | If you haven't seen the mail shot or social media, then let me quickly explain to you |
| 0:13.6 | the premise and my reasons for doing this kind of new mini series. |
| 0:18.1 | First of all, the success of this podcast has kind of blindsided me. I kind of knew, |
| 0:24.9 | and I had an inkling that it would be pretty successful, but over the last few years, it's begun |
| 0:28.8 | to take up a hell of a lot of time. And when you take into account sort of sourcing guests, |
| 0:34.1 | lining up time zones, research, promotion, then physically recording a podcast, |
| 0:40.1 | and then after that you've got editing, post-production, promotion again, writing blog posts, |
| 0:45.8 | etc, etc. You know, you're looking at upwards a couple of days work minimum per episode. |
| 0:51.3 | So what I wanted to do was launch a series, which is a little bit more |
| 0:55.4 | raw, a little bit more spontaneous and have conversations with people that I've met, |
| 1:00.8 | continue to meet, and also like some of my closest friends who have all got really interesting |
| 1:05.6 | stories. And now the platform is as big as what it is, I kind of think that you guys will trust me to deliver |
| 1:13.1 | you like cool podcast, interesting stories, and it only feels right to sort of get these people on |
| 1:19.0 | without having to go through the machine of promotion, et cetera, et cetera, and having to like line it |
| 1:25.2 | all up and make it fit within a schedule. So these are going to be a little |
| 1:28.6 | bit more spontaneous, like I said previously. And the plan is just to launch them. There'll be no |
| 1:34.1 | listener questions, no promotion, nothing like that. You'll just get a podcast in your favorite |
| 1:39.1 | podcast stream. Just as an FYI, make sure you are subscribed. Wherever you listen to this podcast, |
| 1:46.9 | whether it's iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, Stitcher, YouTube, Google Podcasts, IHeartRadio, |
... |
