0:48.4	eric squarisinski all right everybody welcome back to the preacher boys podcast i'm so excited to have to have David Gibbs here on this show to discuss a bill that's got a lot of people, I guess, rightfully panic based on the headlines that were going out.
1:02.9	I saw people sharing articles that said, you know, California is lowering penalties for sex offenders with children.
1:09.3	There's people who are saying, you know, pedophilia is being
1:11.8	legalized in California. There's a lot of concern over SB 145. And so I wanted to bring him on to talk
1:17.7	about it. But first, I just want to say thank you to you for all the help you've done. We've been
1:24.6	kind of in communication for a while now and and talking back and forth and you've
1:28.6	I mean the amount of stuff you've been doing in the background to help me and the show and and I know
1:34.4	so many different victims of abuse in the church is I can't I can't think you enough for that so I want to
1:40.8	say I'm here I'll me jump in always an honor and I just want to say thank you. Eric, let me jump in. Always an honor.
1:50.4	And I just want to say clearly, I believe if a child is going to be safe anywhere,
1:55.9	they ought to be safe at church or school and to encourage, you know,
2:00.1	persons of trust across America to assume that responsibility.
2:02.1	It's a sacred responsibility. I mean, children,
2:07.3	other people's children are being entrusted to your care and to make sure that they're safe and they're not put at risk and that predators stay out of the church. And then, you know, there is a
2:12.6	travesty. And it's not just, as you know, an independent Baptist travesty, it's a national travesty.
