Hey, what's happening everybody? It's Tuesday, and so we're here to talk about video games. This is the Jeff Gersman Show. It's a podcast about video games. I'm your host. My name is Jeff Gersman. Hello. And welcome to the program. This week we're going to be talking about some newly released video games and some news about them as well as your emails.

Yeah, I know. That's pretty wild. Um, gosh. So we're, you know, we're still kind of on the fresh other side of having a child and bringing a child home and all that stuff. My, my, my eldest, my eldest, my daughter, my four year old daughter has been having some, some trouble at night time lately.

In terms of going to bed to staying asleep, you know, waking up in the middle of the night and making a whole lot of noise. Um, and, uh, not really sure what to, you know, that there's the, you can, I went through a phase, you know, I don't know if it's nightmares. I don't know what the, what the actual situation is, but she will get so worked up that she will actually,

uh, vomit. Um, and, um, so, you know, yesterday I, uh, vacuumed the carpet and did all the stuff to clean that up. And, uh, you know, it's, uh, we're just banging our heads against the wall here trying to figure this out. But it's, uh, you know, I, I look at it as a lot of it is, is a,

it's a natural thing that happens the, the, the, the, the messy part of it is maybe, maybe less so. But, um,

but yeah, trying to, trying to figure that out, you know, it's like, but there's no, the, the thing about kids, uh, you know, it's, there's no,

you can't rationalize with them in a permanent way all the time. There's some things that you can get through to them and, and it will stick.

But, um, you know, things like fear, things like, you know, like, like that stuff is so hard to, it's hard to get through to them.

And, um, yeah, I don't know. It's, it's, it's something that we have dealt with often on for probably the past year and change, um, in, in different ways. But, like, this is, yeah, it's, it's interesting.

Interesting, maybe not the word for it. I mean, it's sad. It's sad to see her go through it and does someone who does not especially like cleaning up a lot of stuff. It's, you, I don't love it either.

Um, but, uh, there's always this temptation and I don't think it's like the thing where I play a lot of video games or whatever, but I, there's,

there's, there's a temptation to look at these sorts of scenarios as like problems that can be solved. You know, if you're just like, if I can just figure out the one right thing to do,

to work my way through this, then it will all be fine as opposed to, this is a process and, you know, she's going to grow out of this one way or the other.

But are there things we can do to ease her mind on this to kind of coax her through it a little bit faster than, then maybe it would happen naturally.

I used to, I don't know how old I was, but I went through a phase where I think I've talked about this before, but like, you know, I was just, I, I had the worst, most horrific. This was an elementary school.

Um, but the, the worst nightmares, the worst like, um, the, the, just like, I wake up at night and I would have these scenarios where like I was, I clearly must have been still asleep because I don't think I was, this, this clearly could not have been real, but I was having these scenarios where I would try to scream and couldn't.

And, um, I had become terrified of the logo of a local television station.

Um, the thinking is that I must have stayed up late and seen some sort of horrendous, um, movie or something on the station or something.

But yeah, it is what, so when I see, yes, so exactly, rad, rad, Jago said, when I, when I see all this like analog horror stuff that's become popular lately, I just look at it and go like, yeah.

Yeah, that stuff has lived in my head since the 80s. So, uh, so yeah, um, where I would see the logo like burned onto my sheets or a wall or, you know, or something like that.

And, um, just super weird, right? But that was always my, that was, that was kind of my thing. And there was nothing.
