but kind of a somber day in the surf world. We kind of woke up this morning to the news that Ricardo Dostanto's had passed away.

And Scott and I get into that in the show.

I mean, it's just like every media outlet is covering this story, and you can't avoid it.

And so it's very tragic and sad. And if you don't already know the details,

we'll explain it in the show. But not really sure kind of how to process that. And it's just

unbelievably sad and senseless. But it is what it is. And it's just a good reminder to make sure to hug, you know, your loved ones extra tight

and remind them that you have affection and love for them and verbalize those things

and showcase them every day because you never know.

At any rate, tomorrow, or I'm sorry, next week's show, I've got a goodie for you,

which was a book that Scott and I have discussed kind of at length when it first came out,

and he also co-founded Beachgrit.com with Derek Riley,

former founder of Stab Magazine. And Chass Smith, great dude, interesting dude, good writer, surf

writer, covered the Olympics for Esquire. He writes for a lot of different publications,

but he's got such an intriguing story. He's

really outspoken. He's lived a really interesting life. Most him kind of notably was just the

friendship that he's developed with Eddie Rothman on the North Shore. And he's been able to provide

a lot of unique insight into Eddie's life.

And so we talk quite a bit about that in our conversation.
