Do you realize this morning that you are a new creation?

Good morning, I'm Carrie Green from Lib Bill Change.com and this is the morning mindset.

Being a new creation in Christ has very little to do with how you behave. Now understand correctly what I'm saying. What I mean is how

you behave is not what makes you a new creation in Christ. The fact that you are a new creation in Christ

will impact the way you behave, but it doesn't go the other way around where your

behavior is the thing that determines whether or not you are a new creation.

You see Jesus says when you place your faith in him, you are a new creation.

And that is one of those spiritual realities, spiritual truths so to speak

that we've got to embrace every day. And I pointed out in the last few episodes of the

morning mindset that birth is what determines identity.

And Jesus says when you place your faith in him, you are born, again, literally it means born from above.

Your old identity that was a slave to sin

now is replaced with a new identity.

So the reality is that everything God could not stomach about you, your sin, your

sinful behavior, the tainted nature that you had as a fallen human being has been washed away at the

cross because the reality is that when Christ died on that

you were identified with him, you were placed into him and you died with him.

And when he rose from the grave victorious over sin, you rose with him as a new creation, as a new identity.

Just stop and let that soak into your soul for a bit.

Marinate in it.

It's a reality we have got to understand.
