2020 and we begin with opening day for America's past time. Nearly four

months after its scheduled March start,

baseball is back with an abbreviated 60-game season. Play kicks off with two games

tonight followed by a slate of 14 match-ups tomorrow.

As with all other restart sports, there will be no fans in the stands,

but in a recent reversal, Bat Boys and girls will be allowed on the sidelines wearing masks and gloves.

As for team mascots, they can be in the ballpark just not on the field,

so team execs have been forced to get creative with the entertainment.

The racing of the presidents around the warning track,

a fourth inning tradition at Washington Nationals games

will be taped in advance.

Over in Milwaukee, the Brewers are asking fans to suggest alternative locations

for their famous racing sausages,

and the Pittsburgh Pirates will have to do without.

The Great Parogi race has been shelved for the season.

It's a whole new game. That's the message from the NBA to its fans both verbally and visually.

Anyone tuning in yesterday to the first of the League's exhibition games at the

E-SPN Sports Complex in Orlando, no doubt saw lots of changes.

For starters, the first round is quicker,

with quarters running 10 minutes instead of 12

to give the players bodies a chance to ease back into playing.
