Well that was fun last night. I mean how cool was that to see and look I know there's the course field effect I'm not sure if you watch before the homerun Derby started they started talking about just how much further the ball carries.

We talked about it a little bit yesterday just from from my golf extravaganza that I was there really boots on the ground reporting on the Aaron Roder situation and then.

But that was one hell of a show and you had everything from like the feel good story to the guy who's going to whoop everyone's butt to the favorites who didn't even make it out of the first round.

It was as cool as event as I can recall for the home run Derby in years.

And by the way I didn't know how much I'd miss it after not having it last year in 2020 due to covid and having it this year. It just it brought back great memories memories of doing that stuff back when you're a kid but also more than that it was entertaining as hell.

Yeah I and I was trying to think why did this one hit differently and maybe it was because it was gone for a year and so just to see the packed house to see you know those guys putting on a show because if you think about it outside of Otani.

Who is the big name like that that was a guy was the other favorite a lot of people thought Joey Gallo was was going to win it if Otani didn't and literally both.

It looked like they just couldn't get really into a rhythm and started a crumble maybe Otani it was a little bit more dramatic than than galo but those those two are the favorites going into it.

I mean as far as like big night Mac back in the day it would be so so McGuire you had all these big like future perennial Hall of Fame guys and I don't know that you have that as of yet where you have these marquee name brand players so part of me going into it was like you know there's some young up and coming talent but I don't know that I can wrap my arms around a guy who's a household name and then to see it with the way it played out was fantastic I loved it.

Are you saying that because one of the guys needed a translator something is that is that what this is.

Yeah, yeah, someone was really bothered with the fact that one of the best players in the game maybe the closest thing to to Babe Ruth and I know that's not an original thought but when you get the lead off hitting in an all-star game and be the starting picture.

Pretty cool man I don't care if you need a translator or not that's pretty cool for baseball that puts you on the map worldwide that is one of the things that you should be cheering about not making fun of but that's just me that's just that's just me.

I was waiting to see who was going to go to the ribs first there he was for a round of applause Brady Quinn getting it done and getting it in early here at Foxmore radio.

And look I would like to sit here and poke fun at a failed attempt during a sporting event but more about the USA basketball team later but I will say this.

I will say this the last night and I don't know if it was the time away.

I don't know if it was just the course field of fact I'm not sure what it was it landed differently and I got to give credit to baseball they put on a damn show.

It was a lot of fun through and through and if you're Otani and he was the talk of this thing going into it if you're going to lose early you need to lose in dramatic fashion and that was phenomenal to watch out I played out.

Yeah I mean at least he put up a fight he seemed gasped by the way I mean I look done trust me again was just out there felt the effect sometimes just well I really wasn't doing much exercise I worked out a couple times but you feel it out there.

I mean just from playing out there either going in as an opponent or being there for two years you could feel the effect of the altitude and he looked gasped like I think if you would have done maybe the outs format maybe it would have benefited him.
