Today is Wednesday, July 7, 2021, and we begin with the first person to receive a COVID vaccine

in the United States, cementing her place in history.

Nurse Sandra Lindsay will have her hospital scrubs, vaccination card, and ID card from the

day she received her dose put on permanent display at the Smithsonian Museum.

She was also awarded the Outstanding American by Choice Award from US Citizenship and Immigration

Services, which recognizes naturalized citizens who have made significant contributions to

our country.

Sandra immigrated to the US from Jamaica when she was eighteen.
