Good morning and welcome to Kid News. We're on our summer break, but that doesn't

mean we can't keep those news neurons firing with a few of our favorite critical thinking

questions. Every day we'll bring you a Kid News classic from the past year or so, followed

by a Newdler challenge to see if you can make the story your own.

How do we make friends? A lot of factors go into the process, but last September researchers

found a surprising one. A new study from the Weissmann Institute seems to indicate that

similar body odor brings people together. Researchers could even predict whether there'd

be a connection between complete strangers by first smelling them with a device known

as an electronic nose or e-nose. These findings published this week in Science Advances

suggest that the sense of smell may play a larger role in human social interactions

than previously thought. Write a short science fiction story about a problem you experience

if the e-nose were to become widely used. If you want, you can use this story starter.
