You know, they would give you a certain allotment of time on television in order to get a match done. And if the match went over 10 minutes, it was called a draw. We were up against the clock and I don't believe in draws. I don't I don't want to play for ties. This isn't this isn't the

NFL all of a sudden. All right. I'm not going to sit here and play for a tie. You know, like like they didn't fill a Delphi last year. I'm not going to do that. So I decided that that you are the winner because you were leading at the end of the time that was permitted. And so therefore you it's a it's a win for you Brady Quinn. Just take a look. I've got enough in headline or live versus you maybe not on these weekdays, but on the weekend. I don't drink sweet tea too much sugar for me. But point being it's July 1st. And so now we're starting to see some of these players. Which is a little bit odd. No, no, no, no. These have been in the works for weeks. Oh, I know. I know. But so how here's I mean you also saw Darren Revelle. Who by the way is a weird guy. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to see this. Darren Revelle sent out. He is a weirdo. I knew you're going to say that as soon as you brought his name up. Yeah, he's a weirdo. You never acknowledge him without saying something about him. He's a weirdo or nerd or whatever else you say about it. It's like Joey Chessna. Joey Chessna sucks. Like I'm not a fan of Joey Chessna. The guys of Flake is a slob too. He Darren Revelle, a weirdo sent out that, you know, Fresno State as a couple of.

A basketball players, their twins, they have millions of followers on TikTok and IG and they have signed with Boost Mobile. So fast and furious Brady quits like NFL free agency with all these deals get done it like, you know, five after midnight and it's like, oh my god. How do you work out a six year deal that fast? Well, because he's been in the works for quite some time. How long do you think this stuff has been discussed? Like do these guys already have representation? Like what are we talking about here? Yeah, they've got some representation. And as we talk about it,

earlier in the week, I thought the interesting thing was how the NFL PA, the union had partnered with open indoors. And I believe one team is the other name kind of as a joint venture to represent student athletes in their brand building and marketing endeavors off the field. I just thought it was kind of interesting. It's almost like a conflict of interest, right? Like you should probably wait until they get to that professional sports level to, you know, dip your hands into that. Unless again, they feel like they're going to unionize in the future. And maybe it's a step towards that. But I think

that's the big digress, you know, Karen Williams, the running back in Notre Dame, you know, he's already today, you know, tweeting or at least posting on a social media accounts about yo gaming, which is apparently where you play video games with your favorite athletes. But again, an endorsement nonetheless. But here's the key about this particular endorsement. There's a former Notre Dame athlete who's, he was an alum that started this company. That's obviously again, you know, paying him for this endorsement. And while Karen Williams is building his brand.

He's going to the better running backs in the ACC last year, kind of weird to say, by the way, with Notre Dame. But the key to that is, Mick ASAP isn't alone. So, you know, he's technically could be a considered a booster. But the reality is that's allowed now. I mean, this is so much new ground that it's going to be awkward to get used to. And I think the other thing is just in recruiting one of the hardest things was when you were down on the field. Like if you were a booster, you couldn't be anywhere around the recruits. They were so scared if you had contact with someone

who was so forth like, I remember the, I got a call from the NCAA just because I happened to be at Notre Dame during a weekend where there was a recruit there. And I don't know if he said he saw me or what exactly the conversation was, but someone from compliance called me an Notre Dame. The NCAA called and they said, what had happened? I said, honestly, if I had bumped into a player that was a recruit. Like I had no idea whatsoever about it. We were on the sidelines. Besides that, we were up in a suite.

And I was with my wife, like we literally, like we weren't really around that much. This is during when I was playing. This is during when I was playing in the NFL. Yeah, but after you left Notre Dame, this happened.

Correct. Correct. And I remember saying then, like, if I bumped into one or I said, hi to a kid or someone shook my hand or whatever the case may be, I don't recall anyone introducing him as a recruit. I don't recall any, like, ill intent whatsoever.

And I remember thinking to myself, just over shaking a kid's hand because he went back and told someone a reporter or talked about his visit and it became public, like really?

And now you're talking about this happening all the time where kids are going to be directly being paid by boosters and others for these marketing endeavors and for different branding opportunities.

But the truth of the matter is everyone knows that in college football and recruiting, this has gone on to some degree, you know, probably illegally under the radar. Now it just becomes, it comes to the forefront.

But the real question is the impact that it's going to have on college football and recruiting. Is it going to level the playing field? Or is it only going to allow the rich to get richer? That's the biggest question.

So you didn't slip this guy a couple hundred bucks, like O'Dell Beckham did after the national championship game hell. No, I didn't get any money. Why am I going to dish out money to the recruits?

Screw that. I mean, these kids got it. They have is so much better than I ever had. I mean, I remember our stipend when I was able to actually live off campus with so much less.
