COLOSSIANS 3:4-6 -

When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

Now we have been digging into the first handful of verses from Kowashans chapter chapter 3 the Apostle Paul wrote this to instruct us

0:27.6

about what it means that we are new creations in Christ and what that means not just practically in a day-to-day sense, but what it means

0:35.8

for how we think about ourselves and what we're supposed to do in terms of mindset. And these are some of the most clear mindset verses in

0:45.9

1:16.1

We are forever secure.

1:17.5

So the things that are here that we tend to obsess over, we tend to ponder and get anxious about. Those things are actually ineffective in

1:29.1

changing us and damaging us in harming us in an eternal sense because we are forever secure.

1:37.2

And when we can approach those things in our lives with that understanding, I believe we're able to step into those circumstances more boldly, with greater

1:46.7

confidence, with a lack of fear and anxiety?

1:53.0

Because we know, we know that God's promise is true and that our true identity, our real life, is

2:00.6

forever secure with him.

2:03.0

And these things going on around us cannot touch us in a way that really matters.

2:08.0

And so we're going to move on into verse 5 today,

2:11.0

and Paul says as a result of understanding that we are to put to death

2:16.6

what is earthly in us. That totally makes sense doesn't it? If we truly are hidden with Christ and God,

2:26.0

if our true citizenship is in heaven,

2:29.0

and we are hidden in Christ,
