Today's expression is a bit long, so listen carefully.

G-I-V-E-G-I-E-G-I-E give credit. C-R-E-D-I-T, credit where, W-H-E-R-E, credit, again, C-R-E-D-I-T is, I-S, do, D-U-E. Not D-O, but D-U-E.

Give credit where credit is due.

So, if something is due, that means we are supposed to return it, or we are supposed to put it back.

So the idea, if you go to the library, you can take a book.

But they give you a due date.

Two weeks later, you need to return the book.

You need to take the book back to the proper place. If homework is due, you need to turn in your

homework to the proper person, the teacher. But here it's not homework. It's not a book.

It's credit. If credit is due, what does that mean?

Well, I'll give you an example. I take a picture of a delicious apple pie and it's a homemade apple pie. I cut the apples. I turned on the oven. And now I'm holding this

beautiful, delicious pie. And everybody is going to think that I did all the work. But that's not

true.

I only cut the apples and I only turned on the oven.

I didn't put everything together.
