Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan covers a dramatic weekend inside Iran, including a high-risk U.S. rescue mission behind enemy lines, escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, and new signals from the White House on what comes next in the war.

He details the extraordinary recovery of two downed U.S. airmen in Iran, including a complex operation involving special forces, deception tactics, and reported CIA involvement that helped mislead Iranian forces during the rescue. Bryan also explains why this mission was both a tactical success and a psychological blow to the Iranian regime, while warning that the conflict is far from over as Iran continues attacks across the region and the U.S. weighs its next moves.

On the domestic front, Bryan highlights a series of immigration-related arrests tied to national security concerns, including individuals with alleged ties to Iran's leadership and extremist activity. He also breaks down the growing debate over birthright citizenship and deportation policies, alongside new economic data showing strong job growth but rising pressure from energy costs tied to the ongoing war.

It's April 6th. I'm Brian Dean Wright, former CIA operations officer, and this is The Wright Report.

0:12.1

Hey, good day to you, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to The Right Report, Your Daily News, podcast.

0:22.3

It's Monday's headline brief, heavy on news, lighter on analysis, launching us into a new week with events that as ever are shaping America and the world.

0:31.3

We begin with global news this morning, starting with Operation Epic Fury and a weekend to remember in Iran.

0:38.7

Two U.S. Air Force personnel were shot down on Good Friday in Iran.

0:42.7

Both men now safe, thank God.

0:45.2

The pilot was rescued within hours, as most of us have certainly heard by now.

0:49.1

But the other man, a weapon systems officer, was not safely exfiltrated until yesterday, Easter morning, with reports

0:56.0

that the CIA played a very unusual role, which is true.

1:00.2

We're going to get to that in just a second.

1:02.0

But first, this incredible story starts with some context about how rare it actually is.

1:08.5

By now, most of us probably know that the United States has spent over a month

1:11.8

hitting 15,000 plus targets in Iran operating in and above enemy airspace. That is an extraordinary

1:18.4

number of sorties, which has led now to seven U.S. aircraft lost in all. But compare that loss of

1:24.4

seven to Operation Desert Storm and Iraq years ago, where coalition forces lost 75 aircraft in about the same period of time, about a month.

1:33.7

So seven lost over the past month in Iran versus 75 aircraft years ago in Iraq.

1:40.1

That is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of both the U.S. and Israeli militaries and

1:45.2

intel agencies so far in this war. And yet, as I shared with you last Monday, that does not

1:51.2

mean that Iranian forces are without weapons or resolve. They are. As we are now learning with

1:57.0

some low-confidence intel, an American F-15E jet was conducting operations on Friday in the

2:02.7

skies of Iran when it was struck by a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile, also known as a man-pad.

2:09.6

That might come as a surprise to some, as the White House has said that the U.S. and Israel control
