Today is Thursday, June 23, 2022 and we begin with a tiny glimmer of hope at the gas pump

at summer travel ramps up.

President Biden yesterday asked Congress to suspend the federal gas tax until the end

of September.

The move would knock about 18 cents off each gallon of gas and while not a permanent solution,

may he says provide families a little relief while the government works to bring prices

down through other means.

Mr. Biden also called on states to remove their own taxes on gas and says he's also asking

oil companies to increase production.

Combined he says the moves could reduce the price per gallon by about one dollar.

Here's the catch.

Congress must approve the gas tax holiday and some politicians say it's a long shot.
