we begin with the Big Apple, planning to honor its front-line workers with a celebration

usually reserved for astronauts, popes, and champion sports teams. On July 7, New York

City will host a massive in-person ticker-take parade through the canyon of heroes in Lower

Manhattan. Mayor Bill DeBlasio's announcement keeps a promise he made at the start of the

pandemic to publicly thank doctors, nurses, first responders, and essential workers for

seeing the city through the crisis. The event will officially be known as the hometown

hero's parade, but some celebrations can't wait until July. Last night, New York lit

up its skyline with fireworks to mark getting 70% of its residents at least partially vaccinated.

Right about now, President Biden is meeting face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir

Putin. Their sit-down is being called can't-miss geopolitical theater because the two leaders
