a teenage boy transcending the Spiderverse in a rather exceptional way. Last December,

14-year-old Canadian Preston Mutanga created a shot-for-shot version of the Across the Spider

verse trailer using animated Lego characters. He shared the version online and next thing

he knew, the movie's producers were asking him to animate a scene for the actual film. According

in the New York Times, Preston's parents were skeptical at first that the Sony picture

offer was real, but once they confirmed it, they allowed him to work on the project on

school nights as long as his homework was done. The movie's creators say they were blown

away by Preston's work, and he was equally in awe, saying getting to work with the people

who actually made this masterpiece was honestly like a dream. Preston says he hopes to one

day become a full-time animator and director. If you're looking for his scene while watching

the movie, it happens early on when the story takes a brief detour into a dimension that

resembles Lego blocks and figures.

Teens don't need to be master animators like Preston to get good-paying jobs this summer.

According to Axios, employment rates for teens are up this year, as hourly workers are

in high demand, especially in retail, restaurants, and recreation like pools and beaches. Gusto

a payroll company says 20% of all hires this month will likely be teens, way up from the

summer of 2019 when teens made up only 2% of hires. Pay is also expected to increase, with
