Clark, you have the potential to stink like the mold that can grow if you don't do zone heating and cooling correctly.

My grandfather is a major penny pincher and tends to close off the rooms in his house that he is not using.

This has created a mold problem. Simply closing

off doors and vents can lead to a bigger issue that costs more than what you can

save to fix. Please be careful with this advice. I know you mentioned some

caveats in what you said, but you

know people will take what they want to hear and run with it. Jonathan.

Jonathan, thank you. That is an incredibly good point. If you are going to do full zoning of a property and you're

only going to heat or cool the rooms that you are actively in, what has been recommended in the past is a dehumidifier placed in the areas of

your home that you just want to forget about and not heat or cool.
