Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Monday, June 9th, 2025.

And we begin with Ed the missing zebra, missing no more. Yesterday, the recalcitrant runaway

that captivated a much of Middle Tennessee

for the past week was plucked from a field by helicopter. A specially trained crew found him

during a flyover, dropped a net, and airlifted him to a nearby animal shelter, which made for

quite a sight as the striped four-legged fugitive dangled a few hundred feet off the ground.

Ed's unlikely journey from just another zebra to local celebrity began when he gave his new

owners the slip one day after arrival. Sightings became big news and memes and AI-generated

images of Ed in strange places, like a local Waffle House, soon followed.

Zebras are quick, stubborn, and aggressive, complicating his capture.

But Ed's human, Laura Ford, told WSMV in Nashville that all's well that ends well.

Ed is home and 100% healthy.

The stage is going up and tanks are already rolling in for this weekend's big event in Washington, D.C.

On Saturday, the nation's capital will host a massive military parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

The date also coincides with Flag Day and President Trump's
