Summary

Times have been tougher and for some the last year has been the toughest of their life. With families pulled apart and isolation that has affected us mentally and emotionally, COVID has changed us. Even to this day, while we are gaining our strength to get past the hardship, we are STILL being affected by this terrible illness.    But, even when we go through terrible times there are still so many lessons that we can learn. We want to share the lessons that COVID has taught us. It is through these lessons that we are able to move on. However, we will never forget but instead take what we have learned to make us stronger.    In this episode we share: The importance of being still without feeling the need to do more The importance of taken in our surroundings and appreciating the small moments Feeling grateful for normalcy Being creative with few resources Spending time with family and friends We are not just teachers, we are individuals The value that technology brings to education   Be sure to visit www.teachingonthedouble.com to stay up to date on new releases and upcoming events.    SUBSCRIBE & REVIEW Are you subscribed to our podcast? and we are here to make your life easier by helping you master your time, organization,

and productivity as a teacher. So today's episode is going to be one that's a little bit

difference. And we know that COVID has been incredibly challenging over the last year,

0:23.0

and it continues to be challenging for so many of us. But we really wanted to reflect on our

0:28.3

experience in 2020 with COVID. And we wanted to share three things that COVID taught us.

0:35.2

We are no longer the teachers. COVID is the teacher. But first, let's hear a

0:41.0

TSAH from a top teacher. This top teacher says that their TSAH is listening to everyone

0:48.0

complaining about teaching in this COVID environment. Yes, I know, avoid them, but sometimes we just

0:54.0

can't. Spend your time

0:55.4

productively, teachers. The time you spend groveling, complaining, and boo-hooing about our situation

1:00.7

is so much better spent seeing what we can do to make the situation the best we can. Find the good

1:06.4

in the situation and teaching those parts of life to our students. Yes, you can grovel, complain,

1:12.1

and moan for a while, but not every single minute of your life. Thank you for giving me the

1:17.3

avenue to get all this out. And I love your podcast. As I make my way through all the episodes,

1:22.5

as I just found it about a week ago, almost done binge listening as I binge watch the YouTube channels. Ha, ha, ha.

You know, I really like this, this top teacher. She truly spoke some words of wisdom.

1:35.5

I feel like she dropped the mic on everyone. But I think, you know, we oftentimes talk about all the

1:42.6

things that we, you know, were hating at the moment

1:45.5

or we're struggling with instead of trying to figure out a way of making it better.

1:50.3

It's like it's easier just to sit and complain about it.

1:54.1

So I really love that she just gave us some tough love and really allowed us to kind of
