In this episode we're speaking with retired agent Eddie Friar, who served in the FBI for

30 years,

four as a clerical employee in the Pittsburgh Division,

and 26 as a special agent in various offices,

his last being the San Francisco division. He is interviewed about the intensive

investigation that was launched to recover Polly Class a 12-year-old

California girl abducted from her bedroom during a slumber party with two friends during October of 1993.

Eddie Friar was the case agent who, working in conjunction with his

partners from the Pataluma Police Department, worked countless hours for more than 60 days without a single day off,

desperately trying to recover Polly and to identify the stranger who had abducted her.

Their main goal, their main hope, was to bring Polly home alive.

The Polly Class Child Abduction Investigation became a major national story.

Parents across the country could relate to the fear and were horrified that a child could be taken during the middle of the night.

Eddie Friar is currently an investigator with the International Criminal

Investigations Assistance Program and travels around

the country and the world conducting presentations about the Polyclass abduction case and talking about the lessons he learned during the investigation.

This is one of my most heartbreaking episodes.
