I'm Rhett Miller.

Emily Wolf is a guitar player.

She's also an incredible singer.

She's a great songwriter.

She's a fantastic performer.

But man, there's something about the way she plays guitar.

It's visceral.

It is so... People use words like muscular to describe guitar players who rock, like, really rock.

And I guess that is one of the words you could use to describe the way Emily Wolf plays

guitar. But she makes the guitar into more than you think it could be. She communicates with her

guitar playing in a way that to me puts her in a rank of musicians that's right at

the very top. True virtuosos of their craft. It's kind of incredible that on top of that,

also she's able to sing like she does and write like she does. What's more incredible was discovering all of this after having met her, and she's kind of

quiet, she's kind of unassuming, she's got a sly sense of humor, she's not bombastic

in any way, she doesn't take over a room.

She doesn't chew up scenery.

But good God, when she has a guitar in her hands,

there's no one bigger, louder,

frankly cooler than Emily Wolfe.
