October. I'm Martin Lee, and I go through every EV story, see I don't have to. So yesterday,

kind of morning time, UK, we got the results of the European Union voting on China tariffs.

And it went ahead, by the way. And it's caused obviously a

huge amount of news over here. You know, for my US listeners, it may be of limited interest.

But I think it is still. It could obviously get you 100% tariff on Chinese EVs. And I'm going to

do a special program about that over the weekend. So I started to wrap it into Saturday's podcast,

and there's so much going on. What are the tariffs? What are the various levels? How have the

Chinese carmakers reacted? How have the European car makers reacted? There's so much to talk

about. It's at least 15, maybe 20 minutes, just to try and wrap it all up into one podcast. I'll do a special bonus edition sometime over the weekend. I'll wait for the kiddos to be asleep. Click on a link in the show notes. Okay, let's kick off. And the EV market in Great Britain is expected to not meet the 2024 targets.

The ZEV, the Zv Mandate, according to a

warning from a trade association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, who are paid

to represent the car industry so that none of the carmakers have to stick their neck out and make

a statement if they don't want to, but they pay their subs into the organisation. They speak on their behalf, it's the way it works.

The SMMT calling on the newly elected Labour government to provide incentives for individual consumers, not fleets,

because a lot of our EVs in this country are bought by fleets.

Now, all the individual incentives are all gone these days, and then money off an EV.

The appeal was made in an open letter to the finance minister Rachel Reeves,

ahead of the autumn budget on October 30th.
