Hey there, it's Gary Taris. It's Thursday, May 26th. This is the Ion College basketball

podcast. I got Matt Perlando in me, got Sam Pasini with me, and the draft deadline for

underclassment to withdraw has passed. It was late at Wednesday night. It's now Thursday

afternoon. Sam, I'll start with you. Of the guys who made decisions in, say, the last 48

hours. Nigel Hayes, Caleb Slanagan, Dylan Brooks, Tyler Dorsey, is there anybody that surprised

you with what they decided to do outside of, obviously, Marcus Lee withdrawing, but also

announcing a transfer from Kentucky and Malignuman withdrawing, but also announcing a possible

transfer from Mississippi State? So I'm not allowed to say Malignuman and Marcus Lee?

Well, I'm just saying that you're saying. Well, those are obviously surprising, because

I don't think anybody was talking about in the hours leading up to it that, you know,

we sort of, I guess, because this is the way it always goes down, we just assume that

somebody's either going to stay in the draft or return to their school. Like withdrawing

from the draft, but then transferring isn't something that we see regularly, so I just

assume that we were all surprised by that a little bit.

Yeah, I think that's fair. I think that one name that was a little bit surprising to

me was Caleb Slanagan. It had kind of seemed like throughout the process from like kind

of talking to people and kind of, you know, gathering some information that I've been

kind of assuming that he was going to go to be honest. He threw out the process said,

like, as long as I can, you know, get a second round pick even or like be assured of, you

know, maybe getting a contract next year that he would probably go. That was not too surprising,

I guess, in the fact that he couldn't get that guarantee, because I don't really think

he's anywhere near an NBA player at the stage. He can get there, but he's not really there
