There is so much to think about in terms of the national tragedy

that took place earlier this week with the slaughter of

these children and school teachers in Avaldi, Texas. And as it is thoroughly Jewish Thursday,

I wanted to bring to you a Jewish dimension of how Jewish people, especially religious Jews,

have dealt with the problem and pain of suffering over the generations.

And of course, Jewish people as a people have suffered in extraordinary ways and so often been

the target of attack and hatred and persecution and discrimination and exile and imprisonment and death.

So we want to talk about this.

We want to look at the scriptures, and we're going to open the phones, as always, as we do

on Thirdly Jewish Thursday, for your call.
