And we begin with what looks like another option for kids in line for the COVID vaccine.

Moderna announced yesterday that its shots are safe

and effective for those between 12 and 17 years old.

During the trial, none of the participants who received the actual vaccine came down with the virus within 14 days of the second dose,

while four of those who received the placebo did.

The company plans to ask the FDA for emergency. the A sweltering heat wave is hitting a big part of the southeastern U.S. and records could fall in

Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Charlotte.

CNN says 30% of America's population will see temps of at least 90 degrees or higher.

In other weather news, another active hurricane season is predicted by the National

Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with six to ten hurricanes

forming in the Atlantic Ocean.

The season begins next week on June 1st and runs through November 30th.

On Monday, President Biden announced he is doubling

the amount of money the US government will spend

to help communities get set for extreme weather,

including hurricanes, tornadoes, and for the West, wildfires.

Getting directions isn't too hard these days.

You can go online, use a map on a cell phone, or a GPS system in a car.

But sharks don't have that option. And they've been known to travel for thousands of miles

in the open seas, yet still return to the exact same spot.

Now scientists have made a big step in figuring out how they do it.
