0:43.1	is I saw this article and I saw this bill that got passed
0:46.2	on this opiate epidemic issue that we've seen across the country.
0:51.1	I want to kind of give you guys my take on it.
0:53.2	I saw a couple of people email me this afternoon on it.
0:56.2	This is an incredibly horrible piece of legislation.
1:00.9	Right across it, when you first look at it, it looks like it's really good, it's really
1:05.2	great.
1:05.8	We're going to help fight the opioid epidemic, but it's not that at all.
1:10.0	Not only does it, it gives a $1.5 billion grant to help combat the opioid epidemic across the country.
1:18.8	That sounds great all in all when you first hear about it.
1:21.9	However, when you find out now that $900 million of that grant is going to be used only to support medication-assisted
1:30.9	treatment with methadone and buprenorine, which they're both synthetic opioid derivatives,
1:39.5	essentially, would they help curb opioid cravings, methadone, some horrible stuff.
1:43.9	It causes almost more side effects than oxycontinor morphine does itself.
1:48.9	The other one I'll talk about here in a minute, then like 400 million is going to be dispersed
1:53.4	to community health centers and organizations to expand treatment programs.
1:58.1	Another 150 million is going to be focused on improving knowledge of the epidemic.
