And we begin with a California high school senior getting the call of a lifetime.

Kai Newcomens is a big Pearl Jam fan and when he heard they were short their drummer

for a show in Oakland, he took a chance and sent word that he was available.

Lead singer Eddie Vetter asked for an audition tape and with his parents' permission,

Kai ditched school to practice and record the band's hit song Mind Your Manors.

The rest is rock and roll history. Over the weekend, the Mill Valley team took the stage in front

of 20,000 screaming fans. Everybody, this is Kai. Kai. This is everybody Eddie Vetter announced.

You are leading the band, brother. And for that one song, he did. Kai wowed the crowd

then took a bow with his bandmates. The next stage Kai crosses will be for his high school

graduation in June. On the subject of graduation, if shiny metallic balloons are in your family

celebration plans, try to keep them weighted and inside. Mylar balloons have a silvery coating

that conducts electricity, which means if they float off and touch a power line, they might

short a transformer or melt wires, either of which could cut the lights for your party.

According to Arizona Public Service, most balloon-related outages take place between valentine

stay and graduation season. Fizer booster shots for kids 5 to 11 could roll out as early as this

Friday. Yesterday, the FDA gave the green light to the extra COVID protection for healthy children

who are at least five months past their second dose. The CDC is expected to give the final

okay after a meeting on Thursday, but not that many kids will actually be eligible.

According to CBS News, only 30% of kids in that age range have had the first two shots.
