And we begin with history made by the Supreme Court of the United States.

Yesterday, for the first time time ever the justices not only heard

oral arguments over the phone they also let the world listen in.

Pre-Pandemic only a select few people were ever allowed into the courtroom during the process.

Now with the justices and lawyers all working from home,

the answer was a conference call streamed live on the political network C-SPAN and except for the few hitches and

glitches we all face with technology it seemed to be a success especially for

justice Clarence Thomas who was known for going years without asking a question.

Yesterday, he asked not one, but several.

Five more cases will be heard this way over the next two weeks.

Today is Cinco de Mayo, which means the 5th of May in Spanish.

This is a huge holiday in the US is a way for Hispanic people to celebrate their heritage,

but contrary to popular belief, it is not Mexican Independence Day.

That's on September 16.

Instead, it was on May 5, 1862, that Mexico's army defeated the much more powerful French military in the Battle of Puebla.

Cinco de Mayo is pretty much ignored in Mexico, except in the Pueblo region, but it is definitely celebrated in the U.S.

typically with parades, dancing, and plenty of food.

Obviously, with most places still observing social distancing right now,

celebrating might be limited to take out.

Today President Trump is venturing outside the White House for only the second time in a month.

The big question, will he wear a mask?
