All right, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

It'll be released as a movie this summer.

Now, obviously, it's based on a legendary cartoon from the 1980s.

But here's the thing.

The cartoon was created to sell the He-Man toys that had been

released the year before. And it worked. He-Man is one of the best-selling action figures of all

time. Sadly, the man who created the He-Man action figures won Robert Sweet, Roger Sweet,

sorry, he died earlier this week at the age of 91.

But speaking of toys, remember when your favorite sugary cereal had some cheap plastic thing in the box?

Well, that fell out of fashion about a decade ago because one cost and also the occasional choking hazard.

But this past Sunday, special edition boxes of frosted flakes, fruit loops,

apple jacks, and the very nasty corn pops, they're all bringing the toys back as a promotion

for Toy Story 5, which hits theaters in June. Almost makes me want to be a kid again, right? Because as

I remember it, getting a new toy was pretty much the highlight of your life, particularly when it was in that box of cereal, and your parents that yell at you because you dump out all the cereal just to get the toy and then scoop up handfuls of cereal and put it back in the box. Never made my father happy, but look, ma'am, we wanted that toy. But even as an adult, we still enjoy toys. And look, your toys might change, but inevitably, we can't resist rewarding ourselves with something that we do not need, but absolutely want.

And that's what we're talking about today. Toys.
