Starting plants from seed, what is it that causes us to obsess over those tiny little seeds

beginning in the dead of winter for the next six or eight weeks? We sow so many seeds into tiny

containers and then just stare at the soil and wait while anxiously dreaming about that summer

harvest ahead. I mean, who doesn't love a vine ripe homegrown tomato? And it causes us to do

some crazy things. And yet that tiny seed, it has everything it needs to do what it does

without any help from us. Yet inner haste, as we try to help, we do a lot of things that

kind of throws off the process. We're funny that way, but thank goodness for the resiliency of nature.

So today, it's another conversation to compare notes with my good friend and tomato growing expert

Craig LaHoeir. As two seeds sowing tomato loving guys look back on those early weeks,

from the time those first seeds go into their cells until it's finally warm enough to plant them

outside. And the lessons learned along the way.
