Raina Dorae is a radio personality.

But her superpower is making people comfortable and getting them to talk about themselves in a way where you really get to know them.

She has worked for years in Canada at the CBC.

She's from Toronto. She's risen through the ranks of radio to the point where now she, as of late last year, became the third full-time host in the illustrious history of World Cafe, an NPR radio program based out of Philadelphia. She had relocated to Philadelphia, though during the pandemic. She's back home in Toronto. It was from there that

she spoke to me via Ethernet cables and scary technology. But it was great. She and I had a couple of weeks earlier done a

World Cafe interview where the tables were more traditional. I was, they returned the traditional

direction. I was the guest. She was the host. But for Wheels Off, she agreed to be the guest and let me be the host. And it was

really interesting being able to pick her brain about the creativity that it takes to build a

narrative as the director of an interview, as an interviewer.
