Hey guys, how's it going? Scott here? And I'm back with another episode of the Scott's Bass Lessons podcast.

And today we've got none other than Doug Wimbish with us, the amazing Doug Wimbish.

Now, I'm sure most of you will have heard of Doug before. But if you haven't, he's just had such a, just such a crazy career.

And he's going to go into it within this podcast, just to give you a rundown,

he's, he started, well, he's, one of the biggest things he started with was in the band

working for Sugar Hill Records.

He was in the trio behind all of their, all of their huge hits.

He like performed with guys like Grandmaster Flash. He did the single white lines, you know, that do-dun, do-dun-dun, that

baseline, right? So that was Doug. He did Andy Stone's first record. And then like,

right through to playing with the Rolling Stones, Moss Death, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Jeff Beck.

Yeah, I'm sure you get the idea.

He's had a crazy, crazy career.

But this, what I found is when we got stuck into this podcast when we started interviewing him,

he had so much to talk about in terms of the backstory of how he ended up

working for Sugar Hill Records and all of that, that I decided that we were going to have to

split it into two parts. So at the end of this interview, you'll hear me say, Doug, dude, we're going

to have to stop because we're sort of like, we're way over the hour. And I want to hear all about the Rolling Stones.

I want to hear all about like Madonna and Depeche Mode and Jeff Beck and all of the other guys that you've played with, but we can't fit it all into one interview. So what we're going to do is after this, well, obviously you can listen to this interview, but in a few months' time, well, hopefully a month or so, we're going to hop back on with Doug for another,

a part two in the Doug Wimbish story. Yeah, so you're really going to get a lot of info about the

backstory of Doug Wimbish here in this interview and how he got into it and man, the guys had some

crazy times, let me put it that way. You'll find out all about them in the interview.
