When members of the LDS Church think of Mormon fundamentalists, the stereotype is quite vivid.

We think of Amish-like plain clothed women with long hair, born and raised into a cultish-like

small town somewhere in southern Utah, probably uneducated, probably a bit kooky or strange.

But just like most stereotypes, this perception does not quite hold up.

Take Anne Wilde, raised in the LDS Church, attended Brigham Young University, and graduated

Married in the Los Angeles Temple, had three children with their first husband, taught

gospel doctrine in her word, very articulate and competent, then, after nine years of

marriage, while living in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, not Colorado City, and decided

During these 30th-plus years, all of her neighbors thought she was just a divorcee.
