It would have been really weird if you'd said, like, no, I don't know why.

Because we need to talk about my book and I was hoping you'd prepared. Have you prepared?

I have. Yeah, I've got all my notes sitting here.

I want to talk about the book itself first though, but I don't think people have to listen to this book

in order for them to enjoy this episode. Would you agree?

Yeah, okay. The book is How to Think, a survival guide for a world at odds by Alan Jacobs.

And obviously, since I picked the book, I liked the book, but why do you think people don't need to listen to it?

This is a deep, thinky book, obviously, but the principles we're going to talk about,

they're pretty, I don't know, it's not like a plot line. You don't have to listen to an entire

book to get the story arc and stuff like that. And I'm going to tell you more about my thoughts

on this book in particular in a second. But first, I think we need to address something.

This is written by a human, Alan Jacobs, and in the book, he mentions other podcasts that he's

listening to, right? So, I mean, yeah, he lives in our world a little bit, I think.

I think it's possible he may stumble upon this episode and listen to this episode.

So we need to address that. How do we address that?

I would like to introduce you to Alan Jacobs because I don't think, I don't know, he probably

has no idea who we are. So can I do that? Or quit? Okay, I accept.

All right, Mr. Jacobs, here's the deal. We normally pull a third chair up to the table every once in a

while and we talk to people. So we're talking specifically to you. I think this is the only time
