Today’s expression and dialog: all that jazz How’s DDM? It’s a lot of fun. Never boring. What do you learn? Pronunciation, how to speak, how to listen, all that jazz! If you want to start a new sport or a new hobby, there is a LOT to do. You have to spend time and money to enjoy most hobbies. If you want to enjoy fishing in the US, you need to: buy a fishing license, buy a fishing pole and reel, buy fishing line, buy hooks and other tackle, buy bait. Then you have to find a place to fish. You might need to buy a boat. Mosquito spray! SO many things! But, can we make that list shorter by using a simple English expression? Yes! 0:39.4	All, A-L-L-L-that- that jazz. J-A-Z-Z.
0:41.6	Hmm.
0:42.6	So jazz is a type of music.
0:45.6	Does this expression have anything to do with music?
0:49.3	Uh, well, no, actually.
0:51.9	It's an idiom, which means, and all of that stuff, and everything like it, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, and so on, and so on.
1:07.4	That's the idea.
1:09.5	So, many students have asked me, Coach Shane, what did you study in college?
1:15.6	And I tell them, well, I studied economics and international relations and East Asian studies
1:23.6	and all that jazz.
1:25.6	And all of those things that are related.
1:29.7	When it comes to economics, I studied microeconomics and macroeconomics.
1:34.2	I studied American economics, East Asian economics, world economics, political economics.
1:41.8	International relations was mostly about politics, American politics, foreign policy,
1:48.3	East Asian studies, East Asian foreign policy.
1:52.1	Yeah, I studied all of those related subjects.
1:56.2	So I studied economics and international relations and all that jazz, et cetera, et cetera,
