This is episode 41 of the Swallier Pride Podcast and today's guest is Raquel Garcia.

She goes by Rocky. She is an acute care speech language pathologist who graduated with her

master's and communication disorders from Nova Southeastern University.

She is a board certified specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders and a current SLPD candidate

from Northwestern University, which I did not know about.

That's so cool, Rocky, I'm so glad you're doing that.

Her clinical interests include pediatric feeding,

swallowing disorders, instrumental assessments for swallowing,

airway disorders, and velopharyngeal dysfunction.

And I just might add that this episode is a little too close to home for me.

Rocky's talking all about Clef palettelet and Cliff Lip and this is really close to

him for me because I went through some issues with my son with feeding him

when he was an infant. So I know there's a lot of time where she just goes on and on and I honestly just couldn't respond at some points.

I was just kind of had mom guilt that I didn't know some of these answers and I had you know this horrible guilt that I'm an

SLP and a mom and I didn't know some of these things so if you're wondering why

it's just Rocky talking for a long time it's because I yeah I was it was kind of sad I was kind of upset during this

episode but you know that's why I created this podcast you guys I just want to get this

information out there and you know

Rocky's helped me so much and I'm sure she probably is going to really regret

offering her services even more to meet my son because she's incredible and I'm so grateful for her to share all

of this knowledge with you guys and if you do hear a dog yes you will hear a dog
