I'm Rob Sims from History in the Making. Ryan was kind enough to let me do his introduction.

Now as we have heard from Ryan for dozens of episodes now, Athens has continued to evolve.

From the very first hints of Democratic reforms from Solon

that you heard in episode 25,

to the changes of Kleistenes that Ryan covered in episode 27 to the final stages of democracy that takes place decades from now

Athens has been and will be many things but it is never stagnant.

In the last episode we saw the Persians sent back across the

GMC, a new sea power emerging Greece and Athens is beginning to grow powerful as it begins its

golden age.

But many people have different ideas of how this power should be used.

What should Athens focus its power on and how should Athens focus its power on and how should it try to shape its future.

In fact, so many things go on in Athens between bloody wars, masterpieces of theater and evolving society,

that it is virtually impossible to cover all of it.

Ryan and I are both focusing on about the same periods of time with our respective

podcast and we can hardly cover all of it. Fortunately, Greece is as fascinating
