done by his wife, Anne. This is the shooting of the century. We've talked about Billy's mom,

Elsie Woodward, the Grand

Dom of New York Society. This is all within the sordid tale that becomes the basis for

Dominic Duns, Romana Clay, 1985 novel, The Two Mrs. Grenville's. Thank you to Sarah A.

Who is the real life inspiration for this character?

So there's a character in the two Mrs. Grenvilles that's honestly the best character in the whole darn book.

In the book, her name is Babette Van Deegan. And she's a showgirl who's one of

Anne's early friends in the novel. And then Anne gets a little too high society for Babette. And Babette

in the story is the divorcee who is living with a capital L. She's doing great. She's making record

...
