stranger things that happens every year. Teams ignore players college success.

Alabama wide receiver Devante Smith won the Heisman but mocked drafts have him

below his teammate Jalen Waddle who suffered a broken ankle. Justin Fields led

Ohio State to an national title game had incredible numbers. He could be the

fifth quarterback taken. Teams love potential not as much as the NBA does

where it seems like the less games of player plays the better.

Still the NFL seems fixated on players who haven't proven themselves yet.

Zach Wilson, Tray Lance, limited windows of success, LSU wide receiver Jamar Chase.

Sat out all of last year but he did have one of the more productive seasons a year ago.

That's one of the reasons why the draft is such a guessing game because

teams are forced to project and maybe they do that too much.

The answers are right there on the tape at least I've always felt that.

Now you do have the interview process. You do have them diagramming plays.

You also have the medicals. There's other things that go into it.

But teams sometimes act like what happened in college really didn't happen and that's

going to be the case coming up starting tomorrow night.
