Summary

Clay Travis picks back up his soccer "super league" analogy. What would it look like if college football realigned for the same type thing? Petros of AM 570 LA Sports is in the house to talk soccer, Greece, Croatia, Italy, San Pedro, sings for Iowa and Tennessee, and reps USC. The fellas run through top college fight songs (on their cell phones), Clay's sleep walking, and a t-shirt and no pants.

Your listening to Fox Sports Radio. We're having some fun kind of playing around with a hypothetical that I'm not in favor of and I don't think is going to happen because so many people out there seem to enjoy screaming on Twitter anytime you have a hypothetical discussion. All right. So for those of you waking up on the West Coast. Super league discussion in soccer. Best teams from Syria.

The I and Italy, the English Premier League in England, the La Liga in Spain, whatever they call the top league in France and the Bundesliga in Germany. They are putting together the idea is we'll see whether or not this happens an ultimate soccer league that would feature all of the biggest and most wealthy and most most incredibly lucrative brands in European soccer.

1:18.0

And they creating their own super league and this really doesn't happen or doesn't make a lot of sense. We have our super league already in the NFL. It's called the NFL and we have our super league in the NBA. It's called the NBA and we have our super league and major league baseball. It's called major league baseball hockey pro sports. It doesn't really make sense.

1:39.0

The analogy I think that ties into the super league the best is college football because you have all these different regional organizations much like the five European countries in soccer that I just mentioned.

1:54.0

The SEC the ACC the big 12 the pack 12 and the big 10 are all regional powers that then later in the season come together and play but they don't necessarily play that much in the regular season.

2:08.0

So top of the second hour we spent some time talking about what a college football super league would look like and we picked 20 schools from the SEC the ACC the big 12 the pack 12 and the big 10 and then Notre Dame as an independent and here was my list.

2:29.0

Okay I did this live on the air I said in the big 12 the only two schools that really matter in terms of a super league would be Texas and Oklahoma now I understand Oklahoma state fans upset Texas tech fans baler TCU Iowa state.

2:51.0

Nobody's ever happy when their school isn't picked in a situation like this this was realignment writ large but the answer is Texas and Oklahoma are the only two schools in the big 12 where there would be massive interest outside of the big 12 and watching them play in the pack 12.

3:12.0

The pack 12 USC I think Oregon and Washington and that's being lenient I believe to the pack 12 and the big 10 I think you would go with with Michigan Ohio state Penn State and then I think there'd be a real battle between Wisconsin or Nebraska Wisconsin is better now historically Nebraska.

3:39.0

In the ACC I would go with Clemson FSU and Miami I don't think anybody else really has a strong case.

3:49.0

Private school as I said Notre Dame and then in the SEC which is the most dominant force in college football in the SEC West I think you would go with Alabama Auburn Texas a NM and LSU that means Arkansas fans Mississippi state fans and Ole Miss fans would be upset.

4:08.0

The SEC East I think you would go with Florida Georgia and Tennessee meaning you would leave South Carolina Kentucky Vanderbilt and Missouri on the outside looking in in the event that you went with a 20 team power conference.

4:26.0

W are the other big college football fan here how would you break down my 20 would you have any different than the 20 that I have and who do you think and let me just say this to.

4:40.0

This also comports to a large extent with the biggest revenue producing schools out there so I have all of the let me make sure here I have all of the top 10 in my 20 Wisconsin actually has the 11th highest revenue which is why I think them versus Nebraska would be an interesting argument and then I have Iowa also produces a decent amount of

5:09.0

revenue but I think Iowa is a smaller market not necessarily a big school outside of the top 20 I have Nebraska versus Wisconsin for a battle in the big 10.

5:21.0

I have Climbson who is at 22 in terms of total revenue I have Washington in at 23 and I have Oregon in at the 26th mark and I don't believe I have anybody else outside so all 20 of my schools are among the 26 highest producing revenue schools in general with USC with Miami

5:50.0

and with Notre Dame also as private schools that are that are not included on this list but are obviously massive lot of debate out there will probably put a post up about this discussion on out kick.

6:05.0

Dub how would you assess my list of 20 I think it's fair I mean there's obviously some no brainers that I absolutely belong in this list and there's a few schools that are you can argue one way or the other like your Nebraska's or your Washington's an Oregon's I think personally those

6:26.0

two pack 12 schools belong your your ACC you know it's it's it's it really kind of displays to me like in the big 12 the OU in Texas the fact that they're the only two and I don't really think there's an argument for a third that doesn't

6:41.0

just kind of stand out to you like what are Texas and OU even kind of doing in the big 12 well I mean really are the conference they are the conference and the answer is well they're having a good chance to make the college football play off

6:54.0

because I mean I think you probably put in the third spot if you're looking at the big 12 and you're ranking I mean I probably Oklahoma State would be the third most valuable so if you are arguing like hey who are the schools that are getting
