The Nintendo film has overtaken Disney's Frozen 2

for the best weekend opener for an animated film ever.

And it's also the most successful video game adaption,

easily topping last year's Sonic the Hedgehog 2,

bringing in $377 million in global box office sales

between Wednesday and Sunday.

And other entertainment news, variety confirms

that development plans are in the works for a Shrek 5,

and it's hope that stars, Michael Myers,

Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy will once again

do the voices of Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey.

And People Magazine reports that Warner Bros. Discovery

is in talks to create a TV series based on the seven

Harry Potter books.

Meanwhile, an uber popular form of entertainment

that's not doing so well is the music phenomenon known as K-pop.
