And we begin with live streams hitting a dead end for some teens on Instagram.

Meta says it's expanding its safety measures to block kids under 16 from using Instagram

live without parental permission. According to The Guardian, the changes were announced as the

company introduces teen accounts for its Facebook and Messenger platforms that will also give

parents the ability to set time limits and allow them to see accounts where their kids are

exchanging messages.

The teen accounts on all the META platforms are being rolled out gradually across the U.S.,

UK, Australia, and Canada.

While META says they've been largely successful, with more than 90% of under-16s respecting

the restrictions, critics argue more needs to be done to prevent harmful

material from appearing on the social media sites to begin with.
